At LabelExpo Americas 2018, Transcoat is unveiling its new patent pending technology designed for label printers to make their own laminate while saving time and money.

The Transcoat labelstock laminator unwinds faceless rolls (consisting of adhesive and liner only) and laminates any face material (paper, film or other) to generate the final PS construction. Faceless rolls are offered in different width and adhesive technologies (hotmelt, UV Acrylic or emulsion acrylics).

“With a very small footprint, the Transcoat labelstock laminator is easy to use and does not require support from either highly skilled operators, quality control chemists or product development specialists. Transcoat is a budget-focused solution, costing a fraction of traditional labelstock suppliers’ price,” says Transcoat president Frederic La Brie.

This technology, according to La Brie, pairs perfectly with a digital press to create unique cost efficient products. He adds, “It also allows printers to reverse print clear facestocks before lamination and can even double side print on opaque material. This process keeps your digital press clean as only the facestock runs through it.”

The equipment can be fitted with a flexo, digital printing, die station or any other converting module. Transcoat brings the same benefits of coating your own material, minus related technical issues, time-consuming learning curve, single adhesive type technology limitations and capital cost of a dedicated coating and converting line.

Transcoat is holding hourly demonstrations at Labelexpo.
